This notice explains what personal data Thames Smart Tech Ltd collects through this website, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

What we collect, and why
When you use the enquiry form
We collect the name, work email address, organisation, role (if you give one) and the message you write. We use these solely to answer your enquiry and, if a conversation follows, to carry it on. The submission is delivered to our mailbox and is also held by our hosting provider, Netlify, where the form is processed. We send you an automatic acknowledgement confirming that the enquiry arrived; it quotes your own message back to you and nothing else.
Lawful basis: your consent, given by ticking the box on the form. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing us, and we will delete the enquiry.
When you email us directly
We hold whatever you put in the email, for as long as needed to deal with what you wrote about.
Lawful basis: our legitimate interests in responding to people who contact us about our services.
When you visit the site
We use privacy-preserving analytics that do not set cookies, do not fingerprint your device and do not build a profile of you. We see aggregate figures — which pages are read, roughly where visitors come from at country level, which sites link to us. We cannot identify you from this and we do not try to.
Our hosting provider processes your IP address transiently in order to serve the page and to protect the site from attack. This is ordinary and unavoidable; we do not retain server logs for analytics purposes.
This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.
Who else sees it
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf, under contract.

Where a provider processes data outside the United Kingdom, that transfer is covered by the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the provider's equivalent approved safeguards.
We will also disclose personal data where the law requires it of us.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to a working relationship: 24 months from the last message, then deleted from our mailbox and from the form store.
Enquiries that do: kept for the duration of the engagement and for six years after it ends, which is the period during which a contractual claim can be brought in England and Wales.
Analytics data is aggregate and contains nothing that identifies you, so there is nothing to delete.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR you have the right to:
- be told what personal data we hold about you and get a copy of it;
- have it corrected if it is wrong;
- have it erased, where we have no continuing reason to keep it;
- restrict what we do with it while a dispute about it is resolved;
- object to processing we carry out on the basis of legitimate interests;
- receive it in a portable, machine-readable form;
- withdraw consent at any time, where consent is the basis we relied on.
Email info@thamessmart.com to exercise any of these. We will respond within one month. We do not charge for this, and we will not ask you why.
There is no automated decision-making and no profiling on this site.
If you are unhappy with how we handled your data
Tell us first — it is usually faster. But you have the right to complain directly to the United Kingdom's supervisory authority, and using it does not require our agreement.

Changes to this notice
If we change how we handle personal data, we will change this notice and update the date at the top. Material changes will be flagged on the page for a reasonable period rather than made quietly.
